Contemporary Breaking

Contemporary Breaking

"A playful fusion of contemporary dance, breakdance and so many other ways of movement, or a contact improvisation dance with the floor." This class is not like any other dance class. It is an exploration, a guided research, into movement, with an emphasis on floorwork.  B-boying or 'breakin' is better known to the world as breakdancing, which usually goes quite fast and may seem hard and maybe even painful, but by combining it with the flow of contemporary dance and by adjusting the tempo to that of your own breath, it can be an enriching journey for everyone. One where you learn how to connect to ground like never before, to manage your energy through breathing and to get to know your body on a whole new level. And besides all that, it looks amazing and is a really great workout. So this is for those who love to dance in crazy ways, who love to be up side down and to roll and slide across the floor! Preferably for this class at least some basic movement practice is required, like yoga, dance or a martial art form.

Holistic Handstands

Holistic Handstands

A handstand is so much more than just a fun move. Besides being a full body exercise, it is also a beautiful tool for cultivating more self-awareness and strengthening the body-mind connection. In other words it is a very yogic thing to do! In this workshop the idea is to work mindfully on creating a solid base for doing handstands. We will use many different techniques derived from yoga, breakdancing, acrobatics and circus. With a few different inversions we work towards really understanding a handstand and while at the same time we work on the strength and condition needed to stay upside down for some time. We will explore how to incorporate handbalancing into our daily movement practice and have a little circle about how this practice can influence our lives. Also we will go through some beautiful variations and new challenges for the pro's!

Sweet Lucid Dreams

Sweet Lucid Dreams

All ins and outs about lucid dreaming. A lucid dream is a dream in which the dreamer knows that he or she is dreaming. Besides being very exciting and a lot of fun, it is considered to be a powerful learning tool! It is a very profound experience to have a lucid dream, yet it is only 1 of 6 steps in Tibetan dream yoga. Lucid dreaming can be used for creativity and personal growth or even as a tool for finding enlightenment. Jethro Obadja Rahajaan is a natural lucid dreamer. He has been enjoying his lucid dreams since his childhood and he has been researching his own dreamscapes as well as his tools for maintaining the ability to do so.
